Rovaniemi Tourism & Marketing Ltd has launched the completely renewed English language website Visitrovaniemi.fi with the aim of providing a better service to visitors, media and conference professionals at different stages of their visit. The focus on designing the new website was on responsiveness, visual look and feel, targeted content, interactivity and utilising social media.

Design and implementation of the website was based on the needs of the different Rovaniemi tourism target groups, such as \"adventurers\" looking for local interests and \"pilgrims\" dreaming about meeting Santa Claus. The Santaclaus.fi section integrated into the website supports the Christmas brand of Rovaniemi through stories, videos and images. Rovaniemicongresses.com contains information and tools for conference and meeting professionals.

\"We carried out a large scale revamp of the website, changing the content management system and the structure, content and functionalities of the pages, as well as the visual look and feel. With this service we want to support the needs of visitors comprehensively, strengthen the brand of Rovaniemi tourism on an international level and make our customer service more effective. The website has been implemented with a responsive approach, providing a mobile service to help visitors on the move find what they need,\" says Nina Kostamo Deschamps from Rovaniemi Tourism and Marketing Ltd.

Content production, implementation of functionalities and language versions, and publication of the new web service has been phased. New features such as \"My Trip\" aimed at visitors, \"My Wishlist\" for conference professionals and a versatile map service will be introduced in the coming weeks. Other language versions of the website will be launched next year. The website content will be updated continuously with the support of web analytics.

Rovaniemi Tourism and Marketing implemented the first phases of the project in co-operation with LEO (Lapland Centre of Expertise for the Experience Industry) in the framework of ASPI, a customer focused web service pilot project utilising social media. New brand images were created in co-operation with a Rovaniemi based photographer Antti Kurola. Technical implementation was carried out by Aucor Ltd.
